About Me

My name is Maria T. Perez. I have been working for Culver City Unified School District since 2007.  I am a native Spanish Speaker. I was born in Chiapas, Mexico. I graduated from Cal State Long Beach as a Psychology major, and I continue to learn and expand my knowledge on child development by taking classes at Santa Monica College. I believe that learning is a very personal and unique experience for young children. Children learn through experiences with people who are significant in their lives. Children need to feel free to explore, discover, imagine, and create without being afraid of making mistakes. As I begin to work with young children and their families in the early childhood field, I hold strong commitments and convictions from which my practices flow.
